Presented to Ambassadors and Representatives from around the world at the Palais des Nations in Geneva, Switzerland. Focused on the intricacies of regulating credit rating agencies and potential effects and implications. Repeated calls for a greater focus on building capacity within the Global South for the field of credit ratings.

Speaking at the Operationalisation of the African Union’s Credit Rating Agency - Lusaka, Zambia

Spoke at the operationalisation meeting of the African Union’s new public credit rating agency - AfCRA.

Also spoke about the need to remember the finer details regarding entering the credit rating space, the potential positive impact the new CRA could have, and the importance of harnessing a pan-African focus for the new entity

Co-creating and Speaking at the German Government’s Hamburg Sustainability Conference - Hamburg, Germany

Co-created the ‘Letters that Matter’ session for the Hamburg Sustainability Conference alongside the ONE Campaign team. Spoke on the panel about the importance of supporting Global South initiatives, remembering key systemic constraints, and how better CRAs could inject sustainability analyses into their assessments. The HSC was brought together by the German Government and convened major leaders from around the world.

Speech at the OECD’S 9th G20 Workshop - Paris, France

Spoke at the OECD’s Headquarters in Paris, France for the 9th G20 Workshop just days after South Africa assumed the Presidency of the G20. The workshop convened Sherpas, Governmental Officials, and G20 Representatives from around the world.

Spoke on the importance of credit ratings to the International Financial Architecture and their impact on development for the developing world. He presented policy advice for the G20, ranging from pursuing an ambitious programme of legislative evolution in the US, EU, and UK to the G20 involving themselves in global capacity building efforts in the credit rating sector via resource support and agenda setting.

Launching UN University Report to Experts and Ambassadors -

New York City, USA

Launched the ‘Rating the Globe’ report at the New York office of the United Nations University’s Centre for Policy Research. The audience consisted of experts and Ambassadors, before an expert panel spoke in front of Permanent Representatives to the UN.

Speaking at Brookings Institute, on the sidelines of the IMF/World Bank Spring Meetings - Washington D.C., USA

Invited to speak at the launch of a UNDP and AfriCatalyst report on credit rating impact on the African Continent at the Brookings Institute on the sidelines of the Spring Meetings. Spoke of the need to garner international attention on the realities on the ground in Africa. Also spoke about the lack of representation in the global regulatory architecture for credit rating activities.

Moderating a Panel at The University of Pennsylvania’s Lauder Institute - Philadelphia, USA

Invited to moderate a panel at the Lauder Institute’s Africa Futures Symposium at the University of Pennsylvania. The panel focused on models for growth in Africa, and the potential options than could come from aid, trade, debt, or the diaspora.

Presentation Talk for the African Development Bank (AfDB), Abuja, Nigeria

Presented ‘Navigating the Credit Rating Agencies’ to the Launch of the Debt Management Forum event held by the AfDB, the African Union, and the African Development Institute. The session, held over two days on the 16th and 17th of December 2024, brought together Continental leaders to continue efforts aimed at capacity building.

Presentation to VENRO - Germany

A Presentation introducing leading Civil Society organisations to the world of credit rating agencies and their impact upon development. The session was in preparation for the FFD4 Conference in Sevilla, June 30th 2025.
